Where to Go and What to Do to in Singapore

Woohoo! That passport is no longer a dusty paperweight. Travelling to far-flung destinations is once again a reality (thank goodness that is the case because life is more than just about staying in your bedroom the whole time and ordering takeouts). If you can finally travel and would like to explore Singapore in style, here are seven fun activities that will help you get to know the Lion City like the back of your hand:

01. Take an Insta-walk around town

If pretty backdrops get you all excited, then this walking tour will be right up your alley. On this excursion, follow a local influencer around town, and snap photos of old school buildings, pre-war shophouses, street art, and hidden spots – such as Parkview Square, an art deco-style office building that locals commonly refer to as Gotham.

02. Picnic in style

Nothing is as Insta-worthy as a beautiful picnic. But nobody wants to go through all that fuss of setting up, and that’s where Picneeds come in. These guys will put together a pro spread, complete with IG-friendly items such as cushions, baskets, flowers, and fairy lights. For a romantic night with your partner, go for the Under the Stars option.

03. Go on an art trail

Singapore has a plethora of gorgeous art hidden in plain sight. All it takes is a bit of searching. Explore some of the city’s finest works of art – for instance, the gigantic bronze floating baby at Gardens by the Bay, or the Singapore Soul statue at Raffles Place, made up of steel lettered scripts of the four official languages of Singapore.

04. Enter vintage camera paradise

With its lens-shaped entrance and an exterior built just like a German Rollei camera, the Vintage Camera’s Museum is Instagrammable even before you step in. Once you make your way past the doors, you’ll be greeted by an extensive collection of old-school photo-taking devices, from the largest camera in the world to James Bond-style spy cams.

05. Get your Steven Spielberg on

If you want to pick up some pro cinematography skills, like shooting techniques and lighting theories, then go for this workshop that’ll teach you everything you need to know about the film industry in Singapore. Plus, you will shoot and produce a short video by yourself, so get ready to use that know-how for the Gram – it will come in handy.
