Gardens by the Bay
We all know Gardens by the Bay to be one of Singapore’s most famous attractions. But what makes it so famous? Built on reclaimed land, right opposite the Singapore Flyer, Gardens by the Bay is an ultra-futuristic, horticultural paradise that deservedly represents Singapore as a city in a garden.
First off, Cloud Forest — one of the many sights in Gardens by the Bay — is home to one of the world’s tallest indoor waterfalls at 35 metres high. There are a total of five indoor and 11 outdoor attractions at the gardens (more on that later). You’ll also find 1.5 million plants from around the world across the entire garden. That’s worth your Gardens by the Bay tickets alone.
Use this Gardens by the Bay map to plan your visit; but first, read through this guide for everything you need to know about the Gardens.
How much time to spend in Gardens by the Bay depends on you. Most attractions open from 9am to 9pm. That said, depending on how many attractions you plan on seeing, the time needed here will differ.
If you’d like to make the most out of your Gardens by the Bay tickets and plan on seeing all five main attractions, that is, Cloud Forest, Flower Dome (the largest glass greenhouse in the world), Floral Fantasy, OCBC Skyway, and Supertree Observatory, set aside about four to five hours (i.e. an entire half day).

That amount of time is especially necessary if you want to check out the outdoor gardens and stay around after dark for the magical light displays (the Supertrees light up nightly for a mesmerising light and sound show that’ll have you whipping out your smartphone in no time).
Alternatively, if you only plan on seeing only one to two of these attractions, then anywhere between 1.5 to three hours should suffice. There are also gift shops at various locations, so set aside some time for souvenir hunting.

Then, for the all-important question: what is the best time to visit Gardens by the Bay? If you plan on sticking around for the light show, start your day between 2pm and 3pm. This will ensure enough time to explore the many attractions at the Gardens before ending the night at this dazzling spectacle.
So yes, you can definitely visit at night, since the light show comes on twice per night at 7.45pm and 8.45pm, for exactly 15 minutes per show.

Unlike the other attractions here, admission to Garden Rhapsody, the Light Show is free if you’re watching it at the Supertree Grove Lawn – check out our full guide to Gardens by the Bay’s light show.
Tickets will differ depending on which attractions you plan on visiting. If you have the time, get a bundle ticket to visit multiple attractions, like the Cloud Forest, Flower Dome, and Floral Fantasy — buy tickets at a discounted price.
Alternatively, if you just wish to see Floral Fantasy, an immersive landscape of floral artistry, tickets are quite wallet-friendly for non-Singaporeans.
Have you ever wondered many trees can you find at the Supertree Observatory? This 16-storey vertical garden houses over 162,900 plants of over 200 species. That is why, if you plan to scale up the Supertree Observatory after visiting Gardens by the Bay’s Flower Dome, note that the ticket bundle to both these attractions cost SGD30 total for non-Singapore residents.

How to get to Gardens by the Bay is one of the things many travellers aren’t familiar with but not to worry. Getting there is incredible easy.
If you’re taking the train, you can still make your way to the Gardens by alighting at Exit B of Bayfront MRT Station (CE1/DT16), connected to the Marina Bay Sands Hotel, or taking bus 400 from Exit C at Tanjong Pagar MRT Station (EW15). Look out for the bus stop there.
Luckily, with the new Gardens by the Bay MRT Station (TE22) — which opened as recently as Nov 2022 — the Gardens are just a few steps away from Exit 1 (beside Satay by the Bay).
So, there’s definitely more than one way of how to go Gardens by the Bay by MRT.
