If you’ve decided to visit Malaysia‘s national zoo, Zoo Negara, you might be at a loss for where to start. Don’t fret, because we’re here with a guide to the Zoo Negara map. Read on to find out how to experience the charms of this Kuala Lumpur zoo.

A complete guide to the Zoo Negara map
There are 10 species of hornbill in Malaysia and you can find seven of them in Zoo Negara’s Hornbill Centre. This centre was set up in 2010 as a breeding ground for four species of hornbills.
The Zoo Negara map shows that the Hornbill Centre is beside the lake, near Entrance A.
Not far from the Hornbill Centre is the Cat Walk Exhibit, where you can see tigers, African lions, and cheetahs in enclosures that resemble their natural habitats. Catch these majestic big cats taking a dip or lazing under the sun.
Your next stop will be the Giant Panda Conservation Centre, which houses the stars of the show, Zoo Negara’s pandas, Xing Xing and Liang Liang. These pandas were given to Malaysia by China in 2014 as a sign of friendship.
The pair have had three cubs. While two of them have been returned to China, one panda cub, Sheng Yi, remains with her parents.
You can get to the Panda Centre from the Cat Walk Exhibit by turning left and following the path up.
The zoo’s Ape Centre holds African chimpanzees and two species of orangutans, Bornean and Sumatran. Observe the behaviour of these creatures that share 98.8% of their DNA with humans. If you pay attention, you might notice them shaking hands and quarrelling.
With the Ape Centre right next to the Giant Panda Conservation Centre, going over to see the apes should be easy.
At the zoo’s Reptile House, you can see estuarine crocodiles lounging in their habitat. With crocodiles blending into their surroundings, see if you can spot them.
Other reptiles here include the reticulated python, green anaconda, and the Aldabran Tortoise, the largest species of tortoise in the world.
You can get to the Reptile House by heading south from the Ape Centre.
Delight your little ones by taking them to feed deer, goats, and hippos at Children’s World. The experience costs RM2 and is available on weekends and public holidays from 12pm to 1pm.
Look at the Zoo Negara map, and you’ll see that Children’s World mini zoo is further south from the Reptile House.
The Zoo Negara Penguin Enclosure is home to eight Humboldt penguins (these were flown to Malaysia from the Czech Republic Zoo)! Native to South America, wild Humboldt penguins nest on islands and rocky coasts.
Though you might not be able to venture as far as South America, you can still catch these cute critters in action. Watch as they glide effortlessly through the water during feeding time at 11am daily.
The Penguin Enclosure is to the right of Children’s World, near Entrance B.
Cap off your visit with the zoo’s Multi Animal Show, where you can see sea lions and macaws perform clever tricks. The Zoo Negara animal show is held twice every day at the Animal Show Amphitheatre at 11am and 3pm. The shows take place daily (except on Fridays, unless these are public holidays or school holidays).

The Animal Show Amphitheatre is near the Penguin Enclosure, so you shouldn’t have much trouble finding it.
