1. What can I expect with my 29 Rooms tickets?

As its name suggests, visitors can look forward to 29 themed rooms, each revolving around the topic of Lost & Found. Each room will tackle art, culture, fashion and beauty, music, F&B, wellness, and more.

The event’s debut in Singapore will be the same visionary playground previously found in major cities like New York City, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. Each room is an intoxicating play on the senses, with its own smells, sounds, and even surfaces. Think of it as something like the Museum of Ice Cream but with multiple artist collaborations.

And naturally, at 29Rooms, Instagram is the focus.

So, when it comes to upping your social media game, there’ll be plenty of opportunities, that’s for sure.

Here’s a peek of some cool rooms:

Forest Theatre will take you into a mystical state of mind with backlit trees, mist, and an interplay of light and sound.

The Invisible Embrace channels Billie Eilish’s intimate side of her childhood memories through her new fragrance.

Shake up the Night (By Monkey Shoulder) has a wind chamber for you to catch cocktail tickets.

Paradise Found is a cheeky take on what goes through our mind whenever we have alone time in the toilet when nature calls.

Make A Mess is, well, a place for you to be messy, whether it’s splattering paint or scribbling to your heart’s content.

2. Getting to know the people behind 29 Rooms

Getting to know the people behind 29 Rooms

We spoke with artist Benedict Yu about what people can expect from his work at 29 Rooms (he spent a whopping 200 hours creating 100 silver flowers for his exhibition, a project which started way back in 2019, just as COVID hit).

“With the theme being Lost & Found, I decided to highlight a project close to my heart called Rebirth, which involved folding paper flowers. The project began in 2019 during the pandemic when everyone was under lockdown and couldn’t do much. I asked people to use two pieces of printed A4 paper from their printing machine to make flowers.”

“And I did this together with a community of friends and volunteers. But for 29 Rooms, I used silver paper for that visual, sensory effect. My message is that even though we lost a lot of things during the pandemic, we found new friends and connections to people we didn’t know before.”

In any case, Benedict is an example of how collaboration with artists and branding partners makes 29 Rooms more than just a glorified selfie museum that’s just pretty for the gram, but a deep and insightful portal into art, culture, and what makes it unique.

3. What is 29 Rooms' history?

29Rooms began in 2015 with a series of art pop-ups and parties that went around cities in the US. Since then, over three million people from 24 countries have participated in its online and physical events.

And if you’re done with 29Rooms, why not check out Gardens by the Bay’s Avatar: The Experience that’s happening from now till 31st March 2023.
