Opened on 26 August 2005, Skyline Luge Sentosa is one of Singapore’s top family-friendly attractions. It offers fun outdoor experiences including the Luge and the Skyride chairlift. Luge was originally invented and designed in New Zealand in 1985. Now, it is enjoyed in other countries including Canada, South Korea, and Singapore.

Yes, you can buy Skyline Luge Sentosa tickets on the spot. However, we recommend that you purchase tickets online to avoid the potential long queues.

3. When is the best time for Skyline Luge Singapore?

The Skyline Luge operating hours are as follows:

  • Sunday to Thursday: 11am to 7.30pm (last entry at 6.30pm)
  • Friday to Saturday: 11am to 9.30pm (last entry at 8.30pm)

Given the Skyline Luge opening hours, you can allocate at least one to two hours to fully enjoy the rides and explore the area. The best time for Skyline Luge Singapore actually depends on your preferences. If you enjoy the sun and want to see the views in broad daylight, then you can start as early as 11am. But if you prefer the cooler temperature and stunning views at night, then it is best to visit late in the afternoon, around 5pm until evening.

3) Experience the Night Luge: It’s a totally different Luge experience during sundown as the tracks come alive with vibrant lights and colours. Do note that the Night Luge only happens every Friday and Saturday nights, from 7pm to 9.30pm, so do time your visit accordingly if you want to try the Night Luge.


4. How does Luge Sentosa work?

Before your first ride, Luge instructors will brief you on how to ride, control, and manoeuvre the purpose-built Luge carts. With its unique braking and steering system, it is fairly easy to use and does not require any skill. You just have to use the handlebars to control your speed, direction, and acceleration as you zoom downhill. Pull back on the handlebars to slow down or stop, and release them slowly to accelerate.


5. Who can ride the Luge and Skyride?

There are age and height restrictions to ride both the Luge and Skyride.

For Luge, children must be six years old and 100cm tall to ride alone. Children under eight years old are recommended to remain on the Jungle (Orange) track for safety concerns. Children below six years old and under 100cm tall can ride the Luge in tandem with an adult by purchasing the child doubling ticket.

As for the Skyride, children must be at least 135cm tall to ride alone. They must also be 85cm tall to ride with an adult.

For safety reasons, pregnant women are not allowed to ride the Skyride or Luge.


6. How to get to Skyline Luge Singapore?

To get to Skyline Luge Singapore, you need to get to Sentosa Island first. You can reach Sentosa Island via public transport, vehicle, cable car, bicycle, or even on foot.

Once you’re in Sentosa Island, there are different ways to get to Skyline Luge Singapore. As it is located between Imbiah Lookout and Siloso Beach, there are two entrances for you to access. You may start at the Imbiah Lookout Entrance located at the top of the Skyride if you want to Luge down and return via the Skyride.

On the other hand, the Siloso Beach Entrance is at the bottom of the Luge tracks if you want to do the reverse. Both entrances can be reached via different modes of transport including the bus and the monorail.

How long is the Luge ride in Sentosa?

It only takes about 15 to 20 minutes to complete one Luge and Skyride. However, it may take longer, especially during peak hours and school holidays when you have to queue and wait longer for your turn.

Is there a weight limit for Luge?

There is no weight limit to ride the Luge. Weight does not matter as long as you meet the age and height requirements stated above.

What do you wear at Skyline Luge Singapore?

While there is no strict dress code at Skyline Luge Singapore, it is recommended that you wear comfortable clothes and closed-toe footwear. During the rides, you will be required to wear safety helmets.

Do people get hurt in luge?

It is relatively safe to ride the Luge and accidents are uncommon. Most people can ride and control the Luge without problems. As with any other outdoor activity, accidents could happen if you don’t follow the safety protocols.

This is why Skyline Luge Sentosa has certain age and height restrictions. You are also briefed before your ride and are given safety helmets that are disinfected daily. You can opt to wear your own helmet given it’s BS EN 1078 compliant.

Can you walk up to the luge?

No, you can’t walk up to the Luge. All Luge tickets include the Skyride so you can fully experience the Skyline Luge Sentosa. However, if you don’t want to ride the Skyline, there is a bus that will take you from the bottom back to the Imbiah Lookout Entrance.

How much is the Sentosa entrance fee?

There is no entrance fee to visit Sentosa Island but you will need to pay separate admission fees to the different attractions. We recommend that you purchase the Sentosa Fun Pass to make the most of your Sentosa experience.
