Exploring Genting SkyWorlds: all you need to know

Along with Genting’s indoor theme park Skytropolis, the outdoor theme park of Genting SkyWorlds is supremely popular, with over 26 rides and attractions, and plenty of retail and dining experiences to boot.

If you’re planning a trip to Genting’s open-air theme park wonderland anytime soon, here’s a guide to make your visit fuss-free:

1. Studio Plaza

Before you hop on any rides, you’ll be greeted by Studio Plaza, a fitting entrance to Genting SkyWorlds.

Here, find your favourite movie characters at the 360° Legends Cinema, or as collectable keepsakes being sold at retail stores.

2. Eagle Mountain

Continuing on from Studio Plaza, the next point you’ll arrive at is Eagle Mountain, modelled after the sunny state of California.

Check out Mad Ramp Peak – Full Throttle Racing, the world’s very first dual-powered roller coaster bike ride. Strap in for a thrilling ride in motorcycle-themed carts, and enjoy spectacular views and a good dose of adrenaline.

3. Central Park

Next, you’ll soon find yourself at Central Park, where you can see vibrant cultural and musical performances.

At night, there is a beautiful water fountain show, the Lake of Dreams, that will leave you mesmerised.

You can also visit the park’s Natural History Museum or defend Earth from invading aliens at the interactive Independence Day: Defiance ride. Thrill-seekers can ride the ESD Global Defender, a space-themed roller coaster with wicked twists and turns.

4. Liberty Lane

Next up on your adventure is Liberty Lane, a vibrant corner resembling the ambient neighbourhoods of San Francisco.

Here, you’ll find a few unique souvenir shops, and Invasion of the Planet of the Apes, a one-of-a-kind attraction inspired by the popular movie franchise.

This adrenaline-pumping indoor ride will take you through some of the movie franchise’s iconic scenes, coming across titular characters like Caesar, the leader of the apes.

5. Robots Rivet Town

Challenge yourself at an exciting obstacle course, and strap yourself in for a heart-pounding space battle at Alpha Fighter Pilots, an incredibly popular Genting roller coaster.

Or conquer Terraform Tower: a rip-roaring drop from up high, and one of the must-do Genting theme park rides for thrill-seekers.

You can also time your visit so that you can enjoy gravity-defying performances by the award-winning Power Duo Astronauts.

7. Epic

Step into a whimsical world of fantasy next as you traverse the colourful world of the 2013 animated film, Epic, and rub shoulders with the film’s lovable characters.

Embark on an Epic Voyage to Moonhaven, where you journey deep into this magical world on an indoor boat ride filled with special effects. And get your heart pumping by experiencing being a Leafman for a day with the Epic Hummingbird Flyers.

8. Ice Age

Continuing along the path, you’ll find yourself in the “freezing” temperatures of the Ice Age movie franchise. Join Sid, Scrat, and the rest of the gang for some mammoth-sized fun and adventure.

Go for a spin on Ice Age: Expedition Thin Ice, a fun ride that takes you through icy caverns and flowing lava tunnels.

You can also get your heart racing on Acorn Adventure, a themed roller coaster ride climbing up to 65 feet around an icy waterfall. Kids will also enjoy the daily Ice Age: Time Warp show featuring beloved characters from the movie series. It’s definitely one of the best things to do in Genting for little ones (and parents too).

9. Rio

Finally, warm yourself up with the sunny summer parties of Rio (2011), where a walk through the bustling Santa Teresa neighbourhood brings with it lively encounters and memorable experiences.

Alternatively, you could hop on a colourful teacup ride (Rio Carnaval Chaos), or party it up with Samba Urbana, a daily dance performance that brings the joy of Carnaval to you.
