Which Genting theme park to choose, you may ask? Well, for your next trip to Genting Highlands, you can take your pick between this popular resort’s two theme parks: the outdoor Genting Skyworlds and the indoor Genting Skytropolis.

1. Why should we go to a Genting theme park?

Genting Skytropolis and Genting Skyworlds are two of Malaysia’s best theme parks.

Genting Skytropolis is an indoor theme park with plenty of fun activities. Step into a futuristic world reminiscent of your favourite cyberpunk movies as you tackle 20 rides and attractions in the park. Within this neon-lit world, the attractions are divided into three categories: Child, Family, and Thrill.

On the other hand, Genting Skyworlds is an outdoor park with nine themed zones inspired by adventure and your favourite films: Andromeda Base, Central Park, Unnamed Bison, Epic, Ice Age, Liberty Lane, Rio, and Robots Rivet Town. There are a total of 26 themed rides, including roller coasters, immersive 3D experiences, and an outdoor carousel. Just take note that for certain rides, kids must be at least 90cm in height.

Also, there’s no need to worry about a thunderstorm raining on your parade. If bad weather hits during 11am to 2:59pm during your visit, the park’s Rainy Day Guarantee will be activated, so you’ll get a free return visit ticket for your next visit. If bad weather hits between 3pm to 4:59pm instead, you can enjoy a discount of 50% off your return visit ticket.

A fun-filled day with Genting Highlands theme parks

  1. Enjoy family-friendly rides with your little ones: Genting Skytropolis has a selection of rides perfect for little children and accompanying adults. Kick off your first visit with bumper cars at Boo Boo Bump and a balloon ride at Balloon Race.
  2. Pose in front of Genting Skytropolis’s top Instagram spots: Genting is every influencer’s dream when it comes to photo spots throughout the resort. At Skytropolis, pose in front of the Skyscraper Ferris wheel and the nostalgic Royal Carousel.
  3. Soak in the views of the whole indoor park: The park is truly a sight to behold, so why not go on a ride to really see it? At Soaring Ships, go on an aerial ride through Skytropolis and fall in love with the neon-lit world at your feet.
  4. Relive your favourite Night At the Museum scene at Genting Skyworld: Night at the Museum: Midnight Mayhem is one of Genting Skyworlds’ best attractions to date! The 3D experience will take you on a chaotic ride as you protect the museum exhibits from a T-Rex on the loose!
  5. Fly high with Skyworld’s best roller coasters: A trip to Skyworld is not complete without at least one roller coaster ride. Hop on a roller coaster cart at Ice Age: Expedition Thin Ice and prepare to scream your way down.
  6. Nibble on a snack or two: In case you ever get hungry from the adrenaline rush, Skyworlds has numerous food stalls to check out. Indulge in pastries at Aunt Fanny’s Confectionery in Robots Rivet Town or dig into tacos at RIO’s Santa Teresa Trolley Treats.

Pro tip: download the Genting Skyworlds mobile app (iOS and Android) to plan your trip. The app lets you see park hours, schedules, accessibility information, and pre-book time slots for rides with VQ reservations (which stands for virtual queue reservations). You can even buy tickets by scanning the QR code at the entrance, so no time is wasted.
